OPERATIONS DIVISION POLICE COMMUNICATIONS:

The Police Communications Center is the designated answering point for all Clinton Township Police 911 calls, business line calls and the police dispatch center. In light of this, it is important for the community to understand when and how to call the Clinton Township Police Department.

Both the 911 and business lines are manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. A 911 line should be utilized when the caller wants to summons an immediate response of any public safety service unit: Police, Fire, or Ambulance. The business line 586-493-7800 should be utilized for all other calls to the Police Department.

PLEASE BE AWARE: calling 911 on a cellular phone connects you to the Michigan State Police Northville Post. You must then tell them where you are calling from so they can connect you to the Police Department in that area.

Please remain as calm as possible and provide all information that is requested by the operator. Stay on the line until all questions are answered and the operator tells you it is okay to hang up. Remember the operators are usually handling several calls at once, so be understanding if your non-emergency call is placed on hold, they may be handling an emergency on the other line. Your police requests are handled on a priority basis and will be dispatched as soon as police resources allow.
