Q. Where is the Police Department's Records Division?

A. The Records Division is located at 37985 Groesbeck at the Police
     Department.  The hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and
    Thursday.  The phone number is (586) 493-7800 and the fax number
     is (586) 493-7809.

Q. How do I obtain a copy of a Police Report?

A. All police reports are available after seventy-two (72) business hours
     at the Police Records Division. Accident, theft and damaged property
     reports are copied for a fee of $5.00 for the first two pages and $1.00
     for every page thereafter. Accident, theft and damage reports are
     generally available only to those involved in the report. Others must be
     requested under Freedom of Information. This process could take an
     additional five business days. Freedom of Information requests can be
     mailed or faxed, in addition to being requested in person.

Q. How do I obtain a Dog License?

A. Dog licenses are available from the Macomb County Animal Shelter
     located at 21417 Dunham Road, Clinton Township, MI  48036.  They
     can be contacted at (586) 469-5115.  "Applications" may still be picked
     up at the Police Department Records Division.

Q. How do I obtain a Police Clearance?

A. A person can obtain a copy of a Police clearance during normal
     business hours. There is a $10.00 charge and, by law, this clearance is
     limited to a check of Clinton Township Police Records only. If you
     want a copy of your criminal history, you must obtain it through the
     Michigan State Police.

Q.  How do I obtain a Handgun Purchase Permit?

A.  A permit to purchase a handgun is available during normal business
     hours.  The permit is valid for ten days.  When the handgun is
     purchased, it must be returned for registration.  Handguns are only
     registered on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and on Thursdays
     from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Q.  How do I obtain a Concealed Weapons Permit?

A.  An application kit to carry a concealed weapon is available for pickup
      during normal business hours at the Records Division, 37985 Groesbeck
      between 16 Mile and Harrington Roads.
