Clinton Township Water System

Complete Distribution System Materials Inventory (CDSMI) Physical Verification Program

Dear Clinton Township Water Customer,

Your address location will be inspected as part of the Clinton Township Water System – Complete Distribution System Materials Inventory Physical Verification Program. This action is required because of recently enacted State of Michigan Rules and Regulations pertaining to water service pipes made of lead.

NOTE: Should a homeowner find that their water line is lead, the Water & Sewer Department will begin replacing the line at no cost to the homeowner.

You can scan the QR code provided to send us a photo of your pipe type. Please see the CDSMI document for guidelines on what to photograph.

The purpose of this action is to characterize, record, and maintain a comprehensive inventory of water system pipe materials, including the water line that delivers water into your home or building. Clinton Township follows the State of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy guidance. More information on this is available at Michigan.gov/LCR.

If you have further questions, please contact our office staff at 586-286-9300.

Sincerely,

Mary W. Bednar, P.E., CFM, Director
